Bonjour tout le monde!

My name is Raquel Avila-Bermond and I am thrilled to be a new board member of the AFH.

A francophile, I graduated from University of Hawai'i at Manoa with a Master's degree in French Language and Literature and then lived and taught in Biarritz, France for seven years. I moved back to Hawai'i in 2018 to teach French to high school students at Punahou School and raise my two young children in paradise.

Currently, I am teaching French at Le Jardin Academy to children aged 3-11 as my true passion lies in second language acquisition in elementary education.
