Pardon my French but haven’t you always wanted to parler a little français? What better place to start than with the Alliance Française of Hawaii, the place to go for all things French in Hawaii? Allez, on y va!
This class will be taught by Olivia Techoueyres, our newest online instructor. Olivia Techoueyres, MA is originally from France with 20 years experience as a French teacher. She taught at the University of Hawaii, Maui College for 10 years, at Waldorf High School on Maui, and has tutored many students of different ages and levels since 2000. Olivia holds a Masters Degree in Foreign Applied Languages (English/ Italian) from La Sorbonne Paris, a TEFL from Bridge Linguatec, Colorado, and three certificates in screenplay writing. In addition to teaching French she has also translated subtitles for French documentaries on YouTube, worked as a language coach for the film “Finding Gauguin”, and worked as an interpreter for the Maui County Court Judiciary. Olivia was a free-lance writer for extreme-sport magazines in Europe, and helped to write “Easiest French” and ‘English pronunciation for French “. In 2005, her first book was published in France. She teaches yoga and has been enjoying living in Hawaii since 1997.
The course is being offered online via Zoom that will allow students to interact with each other as well as the instructor from the comfort of their own homes. The weekly one-hour class will go by quickly as you learn to read, write, and speak French.
