One of our long-time AFH members, Renée Latimer, has returned from a year-long adventure to Malawi, France and Spain. She has agreed to regale us with her stories and insights during TWO French Fridays!! Here are the details:
March 8 – Returning to Africa: Lessons learned after 35 years
This presentation will focus on the similarities and differences the presenter observed in Africa (and in herself) between her first experience as a 25 year-old Peace Corps Volunteer in Zaire and as a 60-year old Peace Corps Volunteer in Malawi 35 years later.
June 7 – Walking the Camino de Santiago (Frances)
This presentation will describe how to prepare oneself logistically, physically and spiritually for making a pilgrimage on the Way of St. James.
Both French Fridays are potlucks and will take place at 6 p.m. at the Ilima Hotel, 445 Nohonani Street in Waikiki.
