Ooh la la! Prenez un verre du vin or a glass of champagne in honor of Bastille Day. Let’s make a toast in virtual Paris to Oliver Gee of The Earful Tower!
Wherever you are in the world, forget about that now, close your eyes … and imagine that you are being transported into the eighth arrondissement of Paris,” says Oliver Gee, the host of the popular Paris podcast The Earful Tower. The podcast has 60,000 downloads per month and was recently lauded by the New York Times as a great way to travel by ear.
Originally from Australia, Oliver has lived in Paris since 2015. Paris On Air, a memoir telling the often laugh-out-loud stories from his past five years in the French capital, is his first book. The Alliance Française of Hawaii invites you to spend your evening in virtual Paris with Oliver on Saturday, July 11th, at 7:30 p.m. via Zoom. It will be mostly in English with a smattering of French terms. Oliver will show us the view of the Eiffel Tower from his Montmartre apartment and he’ll share readings from his memoir. Look for a lively Q&A session where he shares his tips on Paris, the language, and more!
Tickets are FREE for members and $5 for non-members. Non-members will also receive complimentary membership to the Alliance Française of Hawaii through 31 December 2020. Registrants will receive an exclusive discount code for a hot-off-the-press copy of his memoir, which ships from Seattle. “By entering the code af the Alliance Française folks can get 5 euros off the book, or the audiobook, or the bundle featuring both of them.”
